El Jaguar E-Type vuelve a la vida gracias al programa Reborn

El programa Reborn del grupo Jaguar Land Rover ha devuelto a la vida a otra de sus viejas glorias: el Jaguar E-Type. El clásico británico ha sido restaurado por la compañía británica y será presentado en el Salón Techno Classica Essen el próximo mes de abril. Anteriormente, el fabricante inglés ya restauró la serie I del Land Rover Defender y el Range Rover Classic.

Este renacido E-Type será puesto a la venta por Jaguar, todavía no sabemos si en sus propios concesionarios oficiales, y al igual que los demás proyectos del programa – Defender y Range Rover Classic – será restaurado en su especificación de fábrica, es decir, sin cambios respecto al modelo original. El coste de este vehículo, a día de hoy, dependerá de la configuración escogida, pero parece que el precio base rondará las 285.000 libras esterlinas (332.000 €).

El primer E-Type restaurado que saldrá a la venta será una unidad coupé de 1965, serie 1, que presentará un motor gasolina de 4,2 litros. El resto de modelos que serán comercializados provendrán de coleccionistas y donaciones avaladas por los expertos de la firma inglesa.

Para aquellos a los que la exclusividad de un clásico restaurado no sea suficiente, el Jaguar E-Type contará con una serie de actualizaciones que podrán ser incorporadas para mejorar el rendimiento de este deportivo. Entre la lista de mejoras se incluye un sistema de enfriamiento optimizado, una caja de cambios sincronizada, algo muy común hoy en día, pero difícil de encontrar en aquella época, y los frenos delanteros de la serie 2 de este modelo.
