Ford F150 2018: Renovada y con un nuevo motor V6 diésel

A pocos días de su apertura, el Salón de Detroit ya nos esta comenzando a revelar sus primeras novedades, comenzando por al facelift de la superventas Ford F150 2018, la que aterriza con mejoras estéticas, de equipamiento y sobretodo, novedades mecánicas que la dejarán a la vanguardia de su segmento. 

Luego de haberse lanzado al mercado hace 3 años, le toca el turno de una actualización a la camioneta de tamaño completo de la marca del ovalo, que llega con novedades en su diseño exterior, principalmente en su frontal, con nuevo diseño de su grilla y focos. Pero la verdadera novedad es la introducción de un nuevo motor turbo diésel V6 de 3.0 litros, además de muchas novedades mecánicas.

Comenzando por el frontal, ahora la grilla crece en ancho, ahora sin espacios entre esta y los focos delanteros, con mayor personalización entre las diferentes versiones (7 diferentes grillas) y tomando algunos detalles de su hermana mayor, la F250 Super Duty como las barras dobles que llegan hasta los focos. Estos por su lado aumentan su ancho, ahora marcando más su forma de C y aumentando la sensación de anchura del frontal.

También hay cambios, con 6 nuevos diseños de llantas, desde las 17 hasta las 22 pulgadas, tres nuevos apliques en el portalón trasero, junto con un rediseño de los focos traseros, dándole un aire de frescura. Por el lado de su interior, se ofrecen pequeñas mejoras, especialmente en las opciones de colores y mejoras en algunos materiales en las series especiales de alta gama. 

A nivel de motores, la gama se abre con un nuevo motor base V6 de 3.3 litros que se espera ofrezca la misma potencia del actual 3.5, acoplado a una caja automática de 6 velocidades. Hacia arriba, todos los motores se acoplarán a una nueva caja automática de 10 velocidades, que mejorará el rendimiento y la eficiencia de los motores, aunque la marca aun no anuncia las especificaciones de los motores. Todos agregan de serie además el sistema Start&Stop.

Como gran novedad en la gama, se ofrecerá un nuevo motor V6 de 3.0 litros Turbo diésel, que se acoplará a la transmisión automática de 10 velocidades, y que se utiliza en modelos de Land Rover como el Discovery, Range Rover y Range Rover Sport, pero aun no se anuncia su potencia, torque ni rendimiento de combustible. 

Por el lado del equipamiento, la marca anuncio que ofrecerá novedades en los apartados de seguridad e info entretenimiento. Ofrecerá por primera vez en el segmento de las pick up, un sistema de preparación en caso de choque, con detección de peatones y control crucero adaptativo con función de detención hasta parado. También agregará conectividad a través de internet 4G LTE, sistema de alta fidelidad Bang&Olufsen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto y otras más. 

La venta de esta F150 2018 se espera comience a fines de este año, luego de su presentación en sociedad en el Salón de Detroit (North American International Auto Show) la próxima semana. Los precios y especificaciones deberían irse conociendo a medida que se acerque la fecha de venta de esta actualización, pero también se espera que el motor diésel se comience a vender algo después que el resto de las versiones.

These on the other hand increase its width, now marking more its C form and increasing the sense of width of the frontal.

There are also changes, with 6 new tire designs, from 17 to 22 inches, three new appliques in the tailgate, along with a redesign of the rear lights, giving it an air of freshness. On the side of the interior, small improvements are offered, especially in the options of colors and improvements in some materials in the special series of high range.

At the engine level, the range opens with a new 3.3-liter V6 base engine expected to offer the same power as the current 3.5, coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Upwards, all engines will be coupled to a new 10-speed automatic gearbox, which will improve the performance and efficiency of the engines, although the brand still does not announce engine specifications. All additionally add the Start & Stop system as standard.

As a great novelty in the range, a new 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel will be offered, which we have already told you (read the note here), which will be coupled to the 10-speed automatic transmission, which is used in models Land Rover as the Discovery, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, but its power, torque and fuel efficiency are not yet announced.

On the equipment side, the brand announces that it will offer innovations in the sections of security and entertainment info. It will offer for the first time in the segment of the pick up, a system of preparation in case of crash, with detection of pedestrians and cruise control adaptive with stop function until stopped. It will also add connectivity via the 4G LTE internet, Bang & Olufsen Hi-Fi system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and more.

The sale of this F150 2018 is expected to begin later this year after its debut at the North American International Auto Show next week. The prices and specifications should be known as the date of sale of this update approaches, but it is also expected that the diesel engine will begin to sell something after the rest of the versions.
