Dakar 2017: Equipo Petronas de “Rooy Iveco” se prepara con todo

Por séptimo año consecutivo Iveco será el patrocinador oficial del equipo Petronas del equipo “Rooy Iveco” en el Rally Dakar 2017, proporcionando los mejores vehículos, motores y repuestos, para dar continuidad a la serie de triunfos que el equipo ha venido alcanzando desde 2015 en la categoría camiones. El equipo, comandado nuevamente por el experimentado piloto holandés, Gerard de Rooy, tendrá un Iveco Powerstar 4×4 y dos Iveco Trakker 4×4 para enfrentar, kilómetro a kilómetro, los extremos terrenos en los que se disputará la versión 2017 de esta tradicional competencia.

“Tenemos la seguridad que continuaremos entregando a través de nuestros camiones un excelente desempeño en las pistas del Rally Dakar del próximo año, permitiendo que los talentosos pilotos del equipo Iveco logren lo mejor de ellos”,señaló Pierre Lahutte, presidente de Iveco, quién manifestó su confianza en que este año, la marca repita el gran desempeño del año pasado.

Los camiones que participarán en el Dakar están equipados con motores Iveco Cursor 13, con hasta 900 cv de potencia, especialmente desarrollados por FPT Industrial para el rally. Otros siete vehículos, seis Trakkers y un Daily, completan el equipo prestando apoyo y asistencia.

En su 39° edición, el Dakar se realizará una vez más en el continente Sudamericano. Paraguay será la gran novedad de la competición, acogiendo la partida el día 2 de enero. Saliendo de Asunción, la ruta contempla que los competidores atraviesen Paraguay, Bolivia y Argentina, completando más de 9.000 de kilómetros en la corrida off-road más difícil y exigente del mundo, hasta la línea de llegada en Buenos Aires, el día 14 de enero.
