Ford Escape 2017: Renovada con nueva motorización diésel

En particular el nuevo motor turbodiesel eroga 150 HP de potencia y 370 Nm a2.500 rpm de torque, asociado a una transmisión mecánica de 6 velocidades. A ella se suman dos opciones de motor con transmisión automática y paddle shifters al volante. Una versión de 2.5L iVCT 4×2, que entrega 168 HP de potencia y dos alternativas con motor EcoBoost, SE 2.0L 4×2 y 4×4, capaces de alcanzar cinco caballos más que antes, ahora con 245 HP. Este motor ahora posee un turbo twin-scroll, turbocompresor de doble entrada que permite canalizar el aire que llega a los cilindros y los gases de escape a través de conductos independientes, otorgando un rendimiento y eficiencia superior, además de una menor emisión de contaminantes al medioambiente.

Estéticamente presenta una nueva parrilla trapezoidal y focos rediseñados con nuevas barras en el techo y llantas de aleación. Además, es el primer producto de Ford Chile en incorporar la función Auto Start-Stop. Toda la gama incluye cámara y sensores de retroceso, siete airbags y la nueva generación del sistema MyKey, con el cual los usuarios pueden programar la llave con acciones como: cancelar las llamadas de teléfono entrantes; restringir la velocidad máxima; evitar que se desactiven los dispositivos de seguridad, reducir el volumen máximo del audio o desactivarlo totalmente si los ocupantes no utilizan el cinturón de seguridad.

Otro sistema de la versión SE 2.0L EcoBoost 4×4, presente en otros modelos de la marca, son aquellos que mejoran la experiencia al estacionar el vehículo. Gracias al Active Park Assist los usuarios obtienen asistencia para maniobras en paralelo o perpendicular a la calzada. A través del uso de sensores ultrasónicos, el mecanismo localiza espacios disponibles y maniobra el vehículo mientras el conductor controla el freno y el acelerador. En tanto, el Asistente de Salida, facilita el procedimiento al momento de dejar la plaza de aparcamiento.

A todo este equipamiento se suma el Monitor de punto ciego BLIS en los espejos retrovisores exteriores, con el cual se minimizan los riesgos de accidentes en el momento de realizar un cambio de carril. Este sistema viene acompañado de la Alerta de Tráfico Cruzado (CTA), que avisa si se aproxima un vehículo por alguno de los costados cuando se sale en reversa de un lugar de estacionamiento.

ACTUALIZACIONES EN INFOTAINMENT

El panel de controles consta de menos botones y mandos, para hacerlo más intuitivo. La palanca de cambios fue reubicada, para obtener más espacio. Además, en todas sus versiones con SYNC 3 con My Ford Touch, sistema que permite realizar llamadas telefónicas y controlar aspectos como la música, navegación y climatización, utilizando comandos de voz.

Gracias a su nuevo sistema operativo, aumenta su rapidez en hasta diez veces en relación con su antecesor. Además, su interfaz fue totalmente renovada, luciendo similar a la de un Smartphone. A través de su pantalla touch de ocho pulgadas capacitiva se pueden replicar gestos cotidianos en teléfonos o Tablets, como hacer zoom utilizando los dedos o realizar desplazamientos de izquierda a derecha y viceversa. Es compatible con Apple CarPlay y Android Auto.
