Con una expresiva silueta de coupé, un diseño claro y sensual y un elevado confort en trayectos largos para sus cuatro ocupantes, el nuevo E Coupé combina la belleza y las virtudes clásicas de un Gran Turismo con tecnología ultramoderna.

Al mismo tiempo hace gala de la inteligencia que caracteriza a la familia de la Clase E, con equipos opcionales como la plena integración de smartphone, el puesto de conducción widescreen y avanzados sistemas de asistencia a la conducción que hacen posible, entre otros, una conducción semiautomática. Motores potentes de bajas emisiones y un tren de rodaje con sistema de amortiguación selectivo rebajado 15 mm respecto del cuatro puertas, aseguran una vivencia de conducción ágil y deportiva sin renunciar al confort.

Tras el lanzamiento de la berlina de empresa más inteligente del mundo, el Estate y el modelo All-Terrain, llega ahora un modelo coupé para sumarse al éxito de la familia de la Clase E. Tomando la berlina como base tecnológica, este coupé deportivo y exclusivo representa el siguiente paso en el desarrollo del lenguaje del diseño de Mercedes-Benz. Con sus proporciones de coupé presenta un diseño purista con superficies muy marcadas y líneas reducidas.

Los rasgos característicos de este coupé típico de Mercedes-Benz son el llamativo frontal con parrilla deportiva en una posición rebajada y estrella en el centro, capó alargado con resaltes longitudinales, habitáculo de altura reducida y posición retrasada y una zaga de formas musculosas. Las cuatro ventanillas sin marco y la supresión del montante B subrayan el carácter dinámico del vehículo. Con la claridad de sus formas, el diseño de coupé se muestra deportivo y al mismo tiempo con estilo.

Otro rasgo típico de los coupés de Mercedes son las luces traseras LED de forma muy estilizada y dividida en dos partes, en las que celebra su estreno mundial la función de bienvenida en combinación con los faros LED MULTIBEAM.

Al desbloquear el vehículo, los LED de la luz trasera se encienden de forma secuencial desde el centro hacia fuera. Al activar el cierre, la secuencia de las luces brilla en sentido contrario. Esto se combina además con una función que reduce y aumenta la intensidad de la luz. Este juego de las luces de posición traseras representa la bienvenida y despedida que da el vehículo a su usuario, de forma análoga a la conocida función de bienvenida de los elementos de fibra óptica de los faros frontales.Adicionalmente, gracias al innovador efecto cristal, las luces traseras adquieren una imagen brillante que recuerda al resplandor de un propulsor a reacción.

Para la fecha de lanzamiento estarán disponibles en primer lugar un motor diésel y tres mecánicas de gasolina con potencias que parten en los 184 CV hasta los 333 CV. Más adelante seguirán otras motorizaciones y versiones 4MATIC.

El motor diésel de cuatro cilindros de la nueva familia de propulsores Mercedes Benz está concebido para cumplir los valores límite de la futura legislación de emisiones RDE. Al mismo tiempo, abre nuevas dimensiones en materia de eficiencia.
