En seguridad, motorizaciones y conectividad: Serie 90 de Volvo recibe importantes actualizaciones

Volvo Cars anunció que integrará varias actualizaciones importantes a su serie 90 (S90, V90, V90 Cross Country y XC90), en términos de seguridad, motorizaciones y conectividad. El fabricante sueco ya había incorporado en su sedán S90 el Apple CarPlay, pero ahora el modelo vendrá con la funcionalidad de Android Auto en la interfaz del controlador del vehículo. El S90 ofrecerá un sistema de integración de teléfonos que cubre los principales sistemas operativos, además de contar con un inteligente sistema de actualización de navegación Over-The-Air, que garantiza que el vehículo siempre tenga disponible los mapas de las calles más recientes.

SLIPPERY ROAD ALERT Y HAZARD LIGHT ALERT

Volvo Cars también ha aplicado toda su seguridad al vehículo conectado, creando dos nuevos sistemas que harán su debut en los modelos The All-New XC90, S90 y V90. Se trata de la tecnología Slippery Road Alert y Hazard Light Alert que utilizan la nube para compartir datos críticos de seguridad entre vehículos.

La Arquitectura Escalable de Producto (SPA) de Volvo Cars, en la que se desarrolló la serie 90 y la serie 60, permite añadir nuevos sistemas de seguridad a toda la gama de vehículos construidos bajo esta plataforma. Slippery Road Alert aumenta la conciencia del conductor sobre las condiciones de las carreteras, recolectando información sobre la superficie, avisando a los conductores que se aproximan a un sector resbaladizo que se ubica más adelante en el camino.

Por su parte, el sistema Hazard Light Alert advierte a los conductores de los vehículos que han activado sus luces de advertencia de peligro en la carretera, avisando a tiempo al conductor que reduzca la velocidad. Esto es particularmente útil en las esquinas ciegas y sobre puntos altos de la carretera donde se tiene poca visión. Estos dos nuevos sistemas de seguridad se pondrán en marcha en Suecia y Noruega inicialmente.

Además de ofrecer actualizaciones en cuanto a conectividad y seguridad, Volvo Cars también ha añadido nuevas variantes a sus motores Drive-E, ofreciendo un atractivo equilibrio entre economía de combustible y capacidad de conducción. El motor diésel D3 de 4 cilindros, acoplado a una nueva transmisión manual de 6 velocidades, ofrecerá una economía de combustible de 4.3 l / 100 km en el All-New S90 con emisiones de hasta 114 g / km de CO2.

This is particularly useful on blind corners and on high points on the road where you have poor vision. These two new security systems will be launched in Sweden and Norway initially.
