JAC S3 2017: Se actualiza el más grande de los SUV pequeños

Fue en julio de 2015 que JAC Autos presentaba su segundo SUV, S3 modelo que venía precedido de excelente resultados en términos de ventas en su natal China. A menos de dos años, este fabricante, representado en Chile por DERCO, lanzó en Maitencillo (V Región), la actualización del modelo, con novedades en diseño, motorización y transmisiones. Compite con un espectro amplio de modelos que va desde el Hyundai i20 hasta el más costoso, que sería Chevrolet Tracker, y entre sus coterráneos se cuentan Changan CS35, Brilliance V3, Chery Tiggo 3.

Este modelo es obra del diseñador de exteriores, Daniele Gaglione y del de interiores, Giancarlo Concil, quienes se desempeñan en el Centro de Diseño de JAC en Turín, Italia. Sus líneas van en directa consonancia con el resto de la familia S de JAC.

¿QUÉ CAMBIOS TRAE EL S3 FACELIFT 2017?

Su frontal exhibe ligeras modificaciones en su grilla hexagonal, la que luce con lamas cromadas más notorias y homogéneas, sobre todo la primera, que en el anterior tenía una suave curvatura. Otro cambio menor es el parachoques que dispone de un ángulo de inclinación mayor, mientras que la zona en la que se ubican los neblineros, presentan biseles cromados, lo que hace más elegante esa sección del auto.

De costado los únicos cambios advertibles son la inclusión de molduras laterales satinadas en la zona baja de las puertas, sumado a la presencia de neumáticos Giti Comfort 221 de medida 205/55 R16 con llantas de aleación con nuevo diseño bicolor.

Por detrás, encontramos que los cambios se concentran en la zona inferior del parachoques, donde el exceso de ornamentación cromada, que lo hacía ver algo recargado en esa parte del auto, dio paso a un paragolpes donde prima la resina negra, con ligeros cambios en las luces de reversa, donde el rojo adquiere cierta mayor notoriedad, además de la aplicación de sutiles biseles cromados y la inclusión de una salida de escape doble del tipo rectangular (una en cada esquina).

Conserva incólumes sus cotas en los 4.325 mm de largo; 1.765 mm de ancho y 1.660 mm de alto. Su batalla llega a los 2.560 mm. Ello le permite ofrecer un gran espacio interior, destacando la altura del techo y el espacio disponible para las piernas en las plazas posteriores. Su despeje también se mantuvo en los 200 mm, mientras que su ángulo de ataque es de 17º, lo que se explica por la forma de su parchoques, mientras que el de salida es más generoso con 23º.

En relación a su habitáculo, mantiene su interior negro con pespuntes rojos, incluyendo tapizado Ecocuero en las versiones Luxury y Advance. Se maximizó el flujo de aire otorgado por el climatizador, lo que será bien recibido por los ocupantes de los asientos delanteros. Mantiene uno de sus puntos fuertes de venta, el contar con el maletero más amplio dentro de los SUV compactos chinos, con 600 litros de capacidad.

Otra de sus fortalezas es la buena aislación que posee su cabina. De hecho, teniendo el motor en ralentí, este emite apenas 40 dB, contra los 43 dB que presenta una biblioteca.

Si el anterior, sólo se ofrecía sólo en dos acabados: Comfort y Luxury, hasta que en abril del año pasado se agregó la variante Luxury con caja automática CVT. Ahora, se pasa a cinco versiones: Comfort, Luxury y se agrega la nueva tope de línea Advance (MT y CVT), que adiciona:

• Techo eléctrico.
• 2 AB laterales.
• 2AB laterales de cortina.

NUEVO MOTOR GREEN JET DE 1.6 LITROS

Una de las quejas del anterior motor de 1.5 litros con 111 caballos, era que andaba algo forzado. Los ingenieros de JAC tomaron debida nota de esta crítica, y lo equiparon con un propulsor bencinero Green Jet (cumplen norma Euro 5, bajo consumo de combustible y otorgan una buena respuesta) de 1.6 litros que eleva su potencia en 7 caballos de fuerza, hasta los 118 caballos a 6.000 vueltas, mientras que su par llega a los 155Nm disponibles a 4.000 rpm. Puede ir asociado a una caja manual de seis marchas o una automática AISIN, japonesa con tecnología CVT e igual número de relaciones.

Su relación peso potencia de 13,5 kilos por HP, lo hace ser más dócil y maniobrable. Aun cuando los rendimientos homologados por el 3CV arrojan los siguientes resultados

WHAT CHANGES DOES THE S3 FACELIFT 2017 BRING?
