Renault Mégane RS 2018, primer teaser en vídeo

El Renault Mégane 2016 se trata de la cuarta generación del compacto francés y lleva varios meses entre nosotros. Le siguió la versión familiar Mégane Sport Tourer y de ambos pudimos ver unas versiones más picantes que recibían las siglas GT. Sin embargo, todavía no sabemos gran cosa del modelo más radical de toda la gama, el esperado Renault Mégane RS 2018.

El compacto deportivo se ha dejado ver recientemente en un teaser tapado bajo una lona. Se trata de un vídeo lanzado por la división deportiva Renault Sport (la que se encarga de la puesta a punto de los RS) para celebrar que alcanzaba el millón de seguidores en Facebook. Por lo tanto solamente se puede ver su silueta y su iluminación, donde no faltan los faros LED con luz diurna en forma de ‘C’ o unos antinieblas similares a los del Renault Clio RS.

Aunque todavía no se han desvelado apenas detalles del próximo Mégane RS, sabemos que será presentado este mismo 2017 y por lo tanto podría llegar al mercado a principios de 2018. Solamente vendrá con la carrocería de cinco puertas (su predecesor solo venía con la de tres puertas) y se espera que sea bastante más radical y agresivo que el Mégane GT. Lo más probable es que se mantenga la configuración de tracción delantera.

Lo que aún no está tan claro es cuál será la mecánica elegida para alimentarlo. Por un lado se comenta que podría mantener un motor turbo de cuatro cilindros y 2.0 litros con una potencia de unos 300 CV (el anterior llegó a 275 CV en el Trophy-R). Por el otro lado los rumores apuntan a que podría montar el nuevo motor turbo de cuatro cilindros y 1.8 litros que utiliza el recién llegado Alpine A110 2018. En todo caso se espera que sistema 4Control (ruedas traseras direccionales) y posibilidad de elegir entre cambio manual o automático EDC. El resto de detalles se irán confirmando a lo largo del año.

The Renault Mégane 2016 is the fourth generation of the French compact and has been with us for several months. It was followed by the family version Mégane Sport Tourer and both of us could see some spicy versions that received the acronyms GT. However, we still do not know much about the most radical model of the entire range, the expected Renault Mégane RS 2018.

The sports compact was recently seen in a teaser covered under a tarp. This is a video released by the sports division Renault Sport (which is responsible for the set-up of the RS) to celebrate that reached the million followers on Facebook. Therefore you can only see its silhouette and its illumination, where there are no LED headlights with daylight in the form of 'C' or fog lamps similar to those of the Renault Clio RS.

Although not yet revealed details of the next Mégane RS, we know that it will be presented this same 2017 and therefore could reach the market in early 2018. It will only come with the five-door bodywork (its predecessor only came with three Doors) and is expected to be much more radical and aggressive than the Mégane GT. It is most likely that the front-wheel drive configuration will be maintained.

What is not yet clear is what will be the mechanics chosen to feed it. On the one hand it is said that it could maintain a turbo engine of four cylinders and 2.0 liters with a power of about 300 CV (the previous one reached 275 HP in the Trophy-R). On the other hand the rumors suggest that it could mount the new turbo engine of four cylinders and 1.8 liters that uses the new arrival Alpine A110 2018. In any case it is expected that 4Control system (directional rear wheels) and possibility to choose between manual change The EDC automatic. The rest of the details will be confirmed throughout the year.
