Volkswagen I.D. ¿el futuro empieza aquí?

Uno de los coches alemanes más importantes hay dos modelos de Volkswagen, el Beetle (encargado de motorizar al país) y el Golf, auténtico rey de ventas generación tras generación. Con la que se viene encima en los próximos años, tanto en electrificación como en conducción autónoma, los germanos quieren un modelo de referencia para ese escenario… y se basará en este Volkswagen I.D.

Por ahora tenemos muy pocos datos de este prototipo, pero Volkswagen espera que algo muy similar esté en circulación en 2020. El tamaño, a vista de las imágenes, es similar al de un Golf…. y ya sabemos que se ofrecerá al mismo momento que el exitoso modelo.

Fíjate bien en su diseño, ya que en el próximo lustro la marca pretende lanzar más vehículos eléctricos de este cuño, con este nuevo “ADN de diseño”. Desde luego, será sencillo reconocerlos. Su sistema de propulsión es totalmente eléctrico, de 125 kW y anuncia autonomías de 400 a 600 km con una sola carga de la batería. Sí, el Tesla Model 3 tendria un rival a su altura. Eso sí, el Opel Ampera-e (500 km) o el nuevo Renault Zoe ZE 40 (hasta 400 km) llegarán al mercado muchísimo antes.

El objetivo de la marca es vender un millón de vehículos eléctricos cada año a partir de 2025 y de hecho, el Volkswagen I.D estrena la nueva plataforma modular eléctrica (MEB). En ese momento pretenden también ser un adelanto de la conducción autónoma y por eso el Volkswagen I-D Concept es capaz de sumergir el volante multifunción en el salpicadero cuando se activa el modo de conducción autónoma (I.D. Pilot). Se trata de una idea similar a la propuesta por el Nissan IDS Concept
