Rotondas: nuevo punto de mira de estafadores de seguros

Pese a estar probado que las rotondas son más eficientes que los cruces, estas siempre han sido motivo de polémica y algún que otro enfrentamiento entre conductores que no saben bien cómo usarlas. Ese desconocimiento está sirviendo ahora de uso a los estafadores, que sacan buen partido de accidentes causados en estas vías y que se conoce, de acuerdo con el artículo del Huffington Post, como “El timo de la rotonda”.

Para realizar el timo, un coche lleno de pasajeros se coloca en la parte interior de la rotonda y comienza a dar vueltas por el carril externo. En un momento dado, un coche que circula por el interior señaliza su salida  de la rotonda, el coche “estafador” acelera y provoca un accidente leve lo suficientemente creíble para luego solicitar una indemnización al seguro por lesiones.

Según las normas de seguridad vial, la víctima del timo es la culpable del siniestro puesto que ha golpeado a un coche que circula por la parte exterior de la rotonda. De esta forma y para evitar pleitos con la Policía de mediadora, se deciden por firmar un parte amistoso. No contento con eso, el estafador llama a la ambulancia para así lograr el parte médico necesario para reclamar la indemnización a las aseguradoras.

Los lugares en los que se han registrado este nuevo timo son en Granada, hace unos meses, y en Vigo, donde la Guardia Civil está investigando a nueve familiares y amigos. Según La Voz de Galicia, estos podrían haber ocasionado presuntamente más de 90.0000 euros de pérdidas a las aseguradoras en concepto de asistencia médica (14.500 euros) e indemnizacones por bajas médicas y supuestas secuelas (78.000 euros).

De momento las investigaciones siguen abiertas, habrá que mantener la atención en carretera y muy en detalle en las glorietas para evitar choques innecesarios y accidentes que, aunque leves, nos puedan arruinar las merecidas vacaciones.

Not content with that, the swindler calls the ambulance to get the medical part needed to claim compensation from insurers.
