Cómo matricular un coche extranjero en España

Bien sea por calidad, precio, gustos personales o viajes muchas personas prefieren comprar su coche en el extranjero. Cuando compramos un coche fuera las preguntas más habituales son ¿Cuándo debo matricular mi coche en España? ¿Cuánto me puede costar? ¿Qué documentación necesito?

Pasos a seguir

• Primero necesitarás el contrato de compra-venta del vehículo. Si lo has comprado a un particular asegúrate de pedirle una fotocopia de su documento de identidad. Además necesitarás la ficha técnica del vehículo y el certificado de conformidad. Ten en cuenta que si estos documentos están en otro idioma deberás aportar también una traducción jurada.
• Si el coche lo has comprado en una empresa deberás presentar la factura en la que aparezca el CIF intracomunitario.
• Necesitarás pasar la Inspección Técnica de Vehículos (ITV), sin importar que el coche la haya pasado anteriormente o no.

• Deberás pagar el impuesto de circulación (en el ayuntamiento en que estés empadronado) y por supuesto, contratar un seguro para el coche.
• Si has comprado el coche nuevo y en la Unión Europea presenta en la delegación de hacienda el modelo 300 o 309 para acreditar (o pagar) el IVA o el ITP (impuesto de transmisiones patrimoniales) en caso de que el coche sea de segunda mano. En el caso de que el coche lo hayas comprado fuera de la Unión Europea tienes que presentar el Documento Único Administrativo (DUA). Este documento lo podrás adquirir en la aduana del país donde lo hayas comprado por 200 euros sin contar el 21% de IVA.

Qué papeles presentar en la DGT

• Tarjeta de la ITV
• Factura del coche o contrato de compra-venta en caso de que sea un particular
• La liquidación de impuestos, tanto el IVA o ITP como el Impuesto Especial Sobre Determinados Medios De Transporte
• Impreso de solicitud de matriculación.

¿Sale rentable comprar un coche en el extranjero?

Depende de muchos factores. Por ejemplo, el impuesto de matriculación cuesta más o menos en función de lo que contamine tu coche, esta tasa se calcula en función de las emisiones de CO2 de tu coche: se trata de un porcentaje entre el valor neto del coche y las emisiones. Para emisiones inferiores a 120 gr/km CO2 el coste será 0. Si las emisiones están entre los 120 y 160 gr/km será de un 4,75%, si está entre 160 y 200 gr/km el porcentaje será del 9,75% y si es superior a 200 g/km el coste es de 14,75%. Para hacernos una idea, un coche que haya costado 15.000 euros y que emita entre 120-160 gr/km nos costará unos 700 euros.

También debes tener en cuenta la traducción de todos los documentos, las tasas de matriculación de tráfico (95,80 euros), ITV,  Impuesto Especial sobre Determinados Medios de Transporte… además del tiempo que lleva hacer todos esos papeles e importar el coche desde el país en cuestión. Si por otra parte decides contratar a un gestor esto te costará aproximadamente 300 euros.

Si decides finalmente comprarte un coche en el extranjero piensa bien en el tiempo y en el dinero que vas a invertir para poder conducirlo en España. Si la diferencia de precio es poca te recomendamos que te gastes un poco más en comprar el coche… y así te ahorras todo este proceso.

Steps to follow

First you will need the purchase contract of the vehicle. If you bought it from an individual, be sure to ask for a photocopy of your identity card. You will also need the vehicle data sheet and the certificate of conformity. Please note that if these documents are in another language you must also provide a sworn translation.

If the car you have bought in a company you must present the invoice in which the CIF appears intra-community.

You will need to pass the Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV), regardless of whether the car has previously passed or not.

You must pay the traffic tax (in the town hall where you are registered) and of course, to take out insurance for the car.

If you have bought the new car and in the European Union presents the model 300 or 309 to the tax office to credit (or pay) VAT or ITP (property tax) if the car is second hand. In case the car you have bought outside the European Union you have to present the Single Administrative Document (DUA). This document can be purchased at the customs office of the country where you bought it for 200 euros without counting the 21% VAT.

Is it profitable to buy a car abroad?

It depends on many factors. For example, the registration tax costs more or less depending on what contaminates your car, this rate is calculated according to the CO2 emissions of your car: it is a percentage between the net value of the car and the emissions. For emissions below 120 gr / km CO2 the cost will be 0. If the emissions are between 120 and 160 gr / km it will be 4.75%, if it is between 160 and 200 gr / km the percentage will be 9.75 % And if it is higher than 200 g / km the cost is 14.75%. To give us an idea, a car that has cost 15,000 euros and that emits between 120-160 gr / km will cost about 700 euros.

You should also take into account the translation of all documents, traffic registration fees (95.80 euros), ITV, Special Tax on Certain Means of Transport ... in addition to the time it takes to do all these papers and import the car from the Country concerned. If on the other hand you decide to hire a manager this will cost you approximately 300 euros.

If you finally decide to buy a car abroad, think about the time and money you are going to invest in order to drive it in Spain. If the price difference is low we recommend you spend a little more on buying the car ... and thus you save all this process.
