Lotus Exige 350 Special Edition, tan ligero como exclusivo

Lotus ha dado a conocer la tercera y última de sus ediciones especiales para celebrar el medio siglo que lleva en su sede en Hethel, Reino Unido. Se trata del Lotus Exige 350 Special Edition, del que solamente se fabricarán 50 unidades y se une al Evora 400 Hethel Edition para celebrar este aniversario tan especial para la marca. Ya está a la venta, por 61.900 libras en Reino Unido y 81.900 euros en Alemania.

Este modelo toma como base al ligero Exige Sport 350, pero es todavía más liviano y cuenta con detalles exclusivos. Al igual que el coche del que parte, el más radical de la gama, monta un motor 3.5 litros V6 sobrealimentado por compresor que anuncia 350 CV de potencia de 350 CV a 7.000 rpm y un par motor máximo de 400 Nm a 4.500 vueltas. Va asociado a una transmisión manual de seis velocidades con un mecanismo que, según Lotus, hace que los cambios de marcha más rápidos.

Con los 26 kg de su cura de adelgazamiento, el Lotus Exige 350 Special Edition se queda en apenas 1.099 kg de peso, con lo que acelera de 0 a 100 km/h en 3,9 segundos y puede alcanzar los 274 km/h. No mejora los registros de la versión original, pero debería ser más ágil y manejable gracias a la mayor ligereza y suspensión más firme.

Se ha logrado bajar este peso gracias a los asientos de fibra de carbono, llantas de aluminio forjado, soportes de motor más livianos y una batería de iones de litio. No falta el sistema de gestión del rendimiento de Lotus permite a los conductores seleccionar entre dos modos de conducción, Sport y Race (este último mejora la respuesta del acelerador y baja los umbrales en los que actúa el control de tracción, permitiendo algo de subviraje).

Puede elegirse entre cuatro colores de carrocería (todos con las franjas de carreras) y ek interior puede tener tapicería de cuero negro o Alcantara. Tiene también detalles en acabado mate, la caja de cambios con el mecanismo a la vista, escape mejorado, pinzas de freno AP Racing de cuatro pistones delante y detrás (pintadas en rojo)… y cosas más habituales como control de crucero. El sistema multimedia es opcional. Aumenta el peso y eso iría contra los designidos de Colin Chapman.

You can choose between four body colors (all with racing stripes) and the interior ek may have black leather upholstery or Alcantara. It also has details in matte finish, the gearbox with the mechanism in sight, improved exhaust, four-piston AP Racing brake calipers front and rear (painted in red) ... and more usual things like cruise control. The multimedia system is optional. It increases the weight and that would go against the designated ones of Colin Chapman.
