Skoda Octavia 2017, renovación al canto

Hay pocos cambios estéticos. La renovación simplifica el diseño frontal, con ópticas divididas que ahora podrán incorporar tecnología full-LED de manera opcional. Gana protagonismo el logo en un frente más ancho, donde se han retocado parrilla, paragolpes y los faros antiniebla, que reducen considerablemente su tamaño. Las llantas de aleación ligera van de las 16 hasta las 18 pulgadas, y se presentan en numerosos nuevos diseños.

No hay variaciones en el espacio interior disponible. La berlina como la versión familiar ofrecen 1.782 milímetros de espacio interior y 73 milímetros de espacio para las piernas en los asientos traseros. Los maleteros son de 590 y 610 litros, respectivamente, y con los asientos traseros plegados alcanzan los 1.580 y 1.740 litros (el Combi puede contar con accionamiento eléctrico).

Mientras la marca no nos diga lo contrario, se mantienen los cinco motores de gasolina TSI entre 115 y 230 CV, con cilindradas que van de los 1.0 a los 2.0 litros. También los tres motores diésel TDI entre 110 y 184 CV (el menos potente con versión Greenline enfocada a mantener consumos muy bajos).

Asociados a una caja de cambios manual de cinco seis velocidades, la gran mayoría de propulsores puede equipar la transmisión DSG de seis o siete velocidades. La versiones má potentes pueden tener tracción total y resulta interesante también el Control Dinámico de Chasis (DCC), que permite al conductor regular las características de la dirección y los amortiguadores en los modos Comfort, Normal y Sport.

Es en el apartado tecnológico donde más gana el nuevo modelo. Los nuevos sistemas de infoentretenimiento (Swing, Bolero) y los de navegación (Amundsen y Columbus) cuentan ahora con pantallas de cristal que según la marca responden mejor a la presión. El Columbus cuenta ahora con una pantalla de 9,2 pulgadas, tiene WLAN y puede incorporar un modulo de tarjeta SIM con sistema LTE para lograr una conexión a internet ultrarrápida. No podía faltar el Skoda Connect, que se divide en Infotainment Online y CareConnect.

Hay también un paso adelante sistemas de asistencia. Es nuevo el asistente de remolque (se hace cargo de la dirección al ir marcha atrás lentamente), el asistente frontal se completa con la protección predictiva de peatones y se mejroa el asistente de aparcamiento. El radar trasero ayuda al detector de ángulo muerto y cuenta con alerta de tráfico trasero para salir marcha atrás cuando se está aparcado con seguridad.

As long as the brand does not tell us otherwise, the five TSI petrol engines are maintained between 115 and 230 hp, with displacements ranging from 1.0 to 2.0 liters. Also the three TDI diesel engines between 110 and 184 hp (the least powerful with Greenline version focused on keeping very low consumption).

Associated with a five-speed manual gearbox, the vast majority of propellers can equip the six- or seven-speed DSG transmission. Powerful versions can have all-wheel drive, and Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), which allows the driver to regulate steering and damper characteristics in Comfort, Normal and Sport modes, is also interesting.

It is in the technological section where the new model wins the most. The new infotainment systems (Swing, Bolero) and navigation systems (Amundsen and Columbus) now have glass screens that according to the brand respond better to the pressure. The Columbus now has a 9.2-inch screen, has WLAN and can incorporate a SIM card module with LTE system for an ultra fast internet connection. You could not miss the Skoda Connect, which is divided into Infotainment Online and CareConnect.

There is also a step forward assistance systems. The tow assistant is new (takes care of the steering when going back slowly), the front assistant is completed with the predictive protection of pedestrians and the parking assistant is improved. The rear radar helps the blind spot detector and has rear traffic alert to reverse when safely parked.
