REVISIÓN TÉCNICA VEHICULAR: 6 PUNTOS QUE NO DEBES OLVIDAR

La revisión técnica vehicular (RTV) dejó de realizarse en el Perú en 1987 y volvió a ser impuesta desde el 2007. Tiene tres objetivos principales: disminuir los accidentes de tránsito por fallas mecánicas, controlar y reducir las emisiones de CO2 y mejorar la seguridad vial.

De hecho, no es algo exclusivo de nuestro país ya que esta se lleva a cabo en todo el mundo con el mismo propósito.

“Es una forma que tienen las autoridades de garantizar que los vehículos que circulan por pistas y carreteras cumplan las condiciones mínimas de seguridad”, asegura Edwin Derteano, presidente de la Asociación Automotriz del Perú (AAP).

¿Cuáles son las consideraciones que no debemos olvidar sobre la revisión técnica vehicular? Aquí las vemos.

1. ¿Quiénes están obligados a pasarla?

Todos los vehículos con más de tres años de antigüedad deben pasar por estas inspecciones. Por ende, un auto nuevo -tomando como referencia el año de fabricación- está exento de esta prueba durante los primeros dos años. La idea también es prevenir las enfermedades respiratorias (entre otras) causadas por la contaminación del parque automotor.

2. ¿Qué debo hacer para pasar la revisión técnica vehicular?

Debes acercarte a un centro autorizado por el Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC) y pagar por el derecho a la RTV. En Lidercon, la tarifa para motos es de 25 soles, para vehículos ligeros de 82.60 soles y para vehículos pesados de 132.70 soles. En ventanilla debes presentar tu licencia de conducir vigente, tarjeta de propiedad y SOAT vigente.

3. ¿Qué inspeccionarán en mi auto durante la RTV?

Las evaluaciones se centran en el buen funcionamiento y alineamiento de las luces principales bajas y altas, luces de faros traseros, direccionales delanteros y traseros, luz de freno, luz de retroceso, limpiaparabrisas, sistema de escape y nivel de ruido del motor, neumáticos, suspensión, frenos y carrocería en buen estado. Todo el proceso dura entre 15 a 30 minutos.

Edwin Derteano recomienda visitar previamente un mecánico de confianza para revisar el estado de cada sistema del vehículo a fin de aprobar sin inconvenientes la revisión técnica.

4. ¿Qué pasa si no apruebo la RTV?

Durante la revisión técnica, las fallas encontradas se consideran leves o graves. La existencia de esta última en el informe final desaprueba al vehículo en examen.Cuando sucede, se da un plazo de 15 a 30 días para que se corrijan los errores. Así, el vehículo pasa una segunda revisión gratuita en el que se inspeccionan solo los desperfectos considerados en el certificado.

5. ¿Cuánto tiempo de vigencia tiene la revisión técnica vehicular?

La revisión técnica vehicular, una vez aprobada, tiene un periodo de vigencia de un año en el caso de unidades particulares y de seis meses en vehículos de transporte público. Cabe indicar que el certificado de aprobación de las RTV cuenta con alcance nacional.

6. ¿Cuál es el castigo por no pasar la revisión técnica vehicular?

No contar con el certificado de aprobación de las RTV es considerado una falta muy grave que repercute en una multa del 50% de una UIT (1,925 soles), internamiento del vehículo en el depósito y 50 puntos en tu récord de conductor.

1. Who is required to pass it?

All vehicles older than three years must pass these inspections. Therefore, a new car - taking as reference the year of manufacture - is exempt from this test during the first two years. The idea is also to prevent respiratory diseases (among others) caused by pollution of the car park.

2. What should I do to pass the vehicle technical review?

You must approach a center authorized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) and pay for the right to RTV. At Lidercon, the motorcycle fee is 25 soles, for light vehicles of 82.60 soles and for heavy vehicles 132.70 soles. At the window you must present your current driver's license, property card and current SOAT.

3. What will they inspect in my car during RTV?

The evaluations focus on the good functioning and alignment of low and high headlights, rear headlights, front and rear lights, brake light, backlight, wiper, exhaust system and engine noise level, tires, Suspension, brakes and body in good condition. The entire process takes between 15 to 30 minutes.

Edwin Derteano recommends visiting a trusted mechanic beforehand to check the condition of each vehicle system in order to approve the technical review without problems.

4. What happens if I do not approve RTV?

During the technical review, the faults found are considered minor or serious. The existence of the latter in the final report disapproves the vehicle under examination. When it happens, it is given a period of 15 to 30 days to correct the errors. Thus, the vehicle passes a second free inspection in which only the defects considered in the certificate are inspected.

5. How long is the technical revision of the vehicle?

The vehicle technical review, once approved, has a period of validity of one year in the case of private units and six months in public transport vehicles. It should be noted that the certificate of approval of the RTV has national scope.

6. What is the punishment for not passing the technical vehicle review?

Not having the certificate of approval of the RTV is considered a very serious fault that affects a fine of 50% of an ITU (1,925 soles), internment of the vehicle in the warehouse and 50 points in your driver record.
