El Volkswagen Up! tendrá sucesor: Antes de 2020

Parece que el Volkswagen Up! no ha sido un fracaso comercial y según las últimas noticias, tendrá sucesor una vez la generación actual agote su ciclo de vida. Sólo el año pasado se vendieron más de 170.000 unidades, además de 41.000 Skoda Citigo y 18.000 SEAT Mii, siendo uno de los productos más demandados del segmento.

Aunque quizás esté lejos de los resultados logrados por los Fiat Panda y 500, no hay que olvidar que los dos italianos tienen su mayor porcentaje de ventas en Italia y son muchos los mercados en los que no tienen tanto tirón (esto afecta especialmente al Panda dado que el 500 ha logrado hacerse con un lugar destacado).

Antes de que termine el año, Volkswagen presentará el nuevo Up! GTI con el que deberían conquistar a un público que busca un buen nivel de prestaciones en un automóvil de reducidas dimensiones. Estará equipado con el motor 1.0 TSI de 110 CV y llevará una caja de cambios manual de seis velocidades.

También en los próximos meses deberíamos ver una evolución del pequeño e-Up! eléctrico, añadiendo una batería de superior capacidad que mejore los actuales 160 km de autonomía. Quizás una vez sea presentada esa nueva opción, SEAT ofrezca el e-Mii que según fue anunciado debería llegar antes del 2019.

De la segunda generación del Up! no se sabe nada y tampoco hay noticias sobre la posible llegada de una nueva entrega de los Skoda Citigo y SEAT Mii aunque viendo que el coste de desarrollo no es especialmente elevado, podrían seguir sirviendo como vehículos de acceso a la marca.

Also in the coming months we should see an evolution of the little e-Up! Electric, adding a battery of superior capacity that improves the current 160 km of autonomy. Maybe once this new option is presented, SEAT will offer the e-Mii that it was announced should arrive before 2019.

From the second generation of Up! Nothing is known and there is no news about the possible arrival of a new delivery of the Skoda Citigo and SEAT Mii although seeing that the cost of development is not especially high, could continue to serve as vehicles for access to the brand.
