CONSEJOS PARA PROTEGER EL AUTO EN INVIERNO

La llegada de la temporada invernal implica el inicio de una serie de factores que pueden desde echar a perder la inversión que representa un vehículo.

“En invierno, la disminución de la temperatura desencadena algunos elementos que ponen en riesgo la seguridad vehicular”, indicó Gustavo Santa María, master detailer Perú y especialista técnico de Sonax, marca de cuidado y protección vehicular representada por Autorex Peruana S.A.

Por ejemplo, conducir el auto con las ventanas cerradas ocasiona que los cristales se empañen, restando visibilidad al conductor y poniendo en riesgo su vida y la de sus pasajeros.

En este contexto, Gustavo Santa María compartió algunos consejos para proteger el auto en invierno, así como para cuidar la integridad de sus ocupantes

1. Visibilidad

– No contar con un limpiaparabrisas que funcione de forma adecuada es una situación muy peligrosa. Se necesita contar con buenas plumillas y con aditivos para el agua que faciliten la limpieza, evitando usar productos que dañen la pintura del auto.

– A pesar de que en Lima llueve de forma ligera y las plumillas parecen no usarse, deben revisarse periódicamente pues, si se operan y están resecas, producirán daños irreversibles en el parabrisas.

– Para evitar que los vidrios se empañen por dentro, se sugiere aplicar un producto antiempañante con un paño de microfibra.

– El exceso de brillo en el tablero genera fatiga cuando se realiza viajes en carretera, lo que pone en riesgo la vida de los pasajeros.  

2. Pintura

– Se sugiere lavar el auto dos veces a la semana como mínimo. Actualmente hay en el mercado shampoos que incluso tienen partículas de cera, lo que ofrece un acabado con más brillo y protección.

– Para una mayor conservación, se debe encerar el auto al menos una vez a la semana, considerando las condiciones del clima.

– Se puede también realizar un tratamiento de pintura al inicio de la estación con el fin de preparar el auto ante las condiciones climáticas.  

3. Humedad

– Es mejor evitar los charcos grandes de agua empozada pues con el tiempo produce la oxidación de piezas y daños en la pintura.

– Lima es una ciudad con un índice alto de humedad, por lo que las conexiones de las puertas del vehículo suelen verse afectadas por esta condición climática.

– Los molestos chirridos o resequedad en las conexiones pueden evitarse con el uso de un buen lubricante que permita además la conservación de dichas conexiones para evitar oxidaciones futuras.

– Si se realiza una revisión preventiva o se reemplaza la batería, es recomendable usar un lubricante multiusos que ayude a evitar la sulfatación de los bordes e incluso facilite la conducción de la electricidad.

For example, driving the car with the windows closed causes the windows to fog up, detracting from the driver's visibility and putting his life and that of his passengers at risk.

In this context, Gustavo Santa Maria shared some tips to protect the car in winter, as well as to take care of the integrity of its occupants

1. Visibility

- Not having a properly functioning wiper is a very dangerous situation. Good nibs and water additives are needed to make cleaning easier, avoiding products that damage car paint.

- Although it rains lightly in Lima and the pens do not seem to be used, they should be checked periodically because if they are operated and are dry, they will cause irreversible damage to the windshield.

- To prevent the glass from fogging inside, it is suggested to apply an anti-fog product with a microfiber cloth.

- Excessive brightness on the dash creates fatigue when traveling on the road, which puts at risk the lives of passengers.

2. Painting

- It is suggested to wash the car twice a week at least. Currently there are shampoos on the market that even have wax particles, which offers a more glossy finish and protection.

- For better conservation, the car should be waxed at least once a week, considering the weather conditions.

- You can also perform a paint treatment at the beginning of the season in order to prepare the car in the face of the weather conditions.

3. Humidity

- It is better to avoid large puddles of water because it eventually causes the oxidation of parts and damage to the paint.

- Lima is a city with a high humidity index, so that the connections of the vehicle doors are usually affected by this climatic condition.

- The annoying squeaking or drying of the connections can be avoided with the use of a good lubricant that also allows the maintenance of these connections to avoid future oxidations.

- If a preventive check is carried out or the battery is replaced, it is advisable to use a multipurpose lubricant that helps to avoid sulphation of the edges and even facilitates the conduction of electricity.
